I went to the theatre tonight to see 42nd Street, I didn't really know what the story was apart from being a musical about making a musical and that there was lots of tap dancing in it. It was a really good performance by the York Light Opera Company who I've seen quite a few times before, which for an amateur company put on a fantastic performance. I'm amazed that they found enough people within their company (or just within York) who could tap dance so well, or that they managed to teach them all in the time that they've been rehearsing for this.
The only slight disappointment for me were a few minor problems with the sound. I'm not sure whether the microphones were the responsibility of the sound desk or the individuals but on a few occasions they weren't doing their job properly and switching them off when they'd gone off stage. Although luckily there wasn't too much to spoil the performance, just one particular comment about some boxes in the wrong place, but all in all another good night.
Now I'm looking forward to being on the actual 42nd Street in New York in May!

Me too!!
What shall we see when we're there, I wonder, apart from GCT and the New York Public Library?
Times Square, and therefore also our hotel, are on 42nd Street, and Bryant Park, behind the library. Of course, we could also venture further afield than just that street...
